Community Health at the Crossroads: Local Health Trends from PHMC’s Southeastern Pennsylvania Household Health Survey, 1990 to 2000

This new report from the Philadelphia Health Management Corporation’s (PHMC) Community Health Data Base provides trend data for the most important health issues facing people and communities today, including health status and health behaviors, access to and utilization of care, and care for special populations such as women, older adults, and children. The report has a past, present and future orientation. A decade of trend data from PHMC’s Southeastern Pennsylvania Household Health Survey show where we were, where we are today, and where we need to go in the years ahead to achieve targeted Healthy People 2010 objectives. Charts, graphs, maps and bulleted text are used to illustrate the data. The report also provides a community-level perspective. Information for Philadelphia is provided for the whole city and for each of its 12 Planning Analysis Sections. Information is also presented for each suburban county and its relevant, sub-county community areas.
