Quality Insights of Pennsylvania is the Medicare quality improvement organization for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Under contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Quality Insights strives to protect the rights and improve the health of Pennsylvanians with Medicare. Collaborative projects are designed to deliver quality improvement across the health care continuum through the implementation of improved processes and free patient education material. Collaborative projects include:
- Hospitals – focusing on improving care in the treatment of heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, community acquired pneumonia, and surgical infection prevention.
- Nursing Homes – focusing on improving care in the treatment of pressure ulcers, pain management, and assistance with daily living (ADLs).
- Home Health – focusing on the implementation of the Outcomes Based Quality Improvement (OBQI) system.
- Physician Office – focusing on the implementation of process improvement tools and patient education materials designed to help increase the number of patients receiving adult immunizations, mammograms, and proper diabetes monitoring services.
- Managed Care – focusing on working with them on their Quality Improvement System for Managed Care efforts.
